Privacy Policy

This policy explains what personal data The Media Lab collects through this website and its contact form, why we collect it, and what you can ask us to do with it.

Contents

01Who we are

This website, themedialab.io, is run by The Media Lab (“we,” “us”). We decide how the personal data described here is used, which makes us the controller of that data.

THE MEDIA LAB LLC.

Registered address: 30 N Gould St Ste R, Sheridan, WY 82801-6317, US.

For anything about your data, email info@themedialab.io.

02What this policy covers

It covers this website, the contact form on it and emails you send to info@themedialab.io. It does not cover the websites of other companies, including the brands named on this site. Those sites have their own policies.

03What we collect

  • Details you send us. Your name, email address, brand or company name, website (if you add one), the options you pick in the form and your message. The same applies to anything you write to us by email.
  • Technical data. When you visit, our hosting provider processes standard server data such as your IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time of the request. This is needed to deliver the site and keep it secure. When you send the form, our server also holds your IP address in memory for up to 10 minutes to limit repeated sends. It is not logged or saved.
  • No analytics and no tracking. This site does not use analytics, advertising pixels, session recording or fingerprinting.

04Why we use it and our legal basis

  • To read and answer your message and to have the conversation you asked for. Our legal basis is our legitimate interest in responding to inquiries. Where you contact us about working together, it is also taking steps at your request before entering into an agreement.
  • To keep the site working and secure. Our legal basis is our legitimate interest in running a safe website.

We do not use your details for marketing, we do not sell them, and we do not make automated decisions about you.

05Cookies and similar technologies

This site does not set cookies and does not use similar technologies to track you. Fonts and images are served from our own domain, so loading a page sends no requests to third parties.

If that ever changes, we will update this policy first and ask for your consent where the law requires it.

06Who we share it with

We share personal data only with service providers that help us run the site and handle messages, under their data processing terms:

  • Our hosting provider (Vercel), which serves the site and processes the technical data described above.
  • Our email delivery provider, which delivers messages from the contact form to our inbox.
  • The provider that hosts our info@themedialab.io inbox.

We may also disclose data where the law requires it.

07International transfers

Our providers may process data outside the country where you live, including in the United States. Where the law requires it, those transfers rely on recognized safeguards, such as the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses.

08How long we keep it

The website itself stores nothing you send: it passes your message to our inbox and keeps no copy. Messages and the emails that follow stay in our inbox for as long as the conversation is useful, and we delete them when it no longer is, unless we must keep them to meet a legal obligation.

Server logs are kept by our hosting provider for a limited period under its own retention settings.

09Your rights

Depending on where you live, you can ask us to:

  • Give you a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Correct it if it is wrong.
  • Delete it.
  • Restrict how we use it, or object to our use of it.
  • Send it to you or to someone else in a portable format.

To use any of these rights, email info@themedialab.io. We may need to confirm who you are before we act on a request.

10How we protect it

The site is served over HTTPS only. Access to our inbox is limited to the people who need it to answer you, and we use providers that commit to protecting the data they process for us. No system is completely secure, so please leave anything confidential out of your first message.

11Children

This site is meant for business owners and professionals. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16.

12Changes to this policy

When we change this policy, we update the date at the top of this page, and we flag significant changes there too.

13Contact and complaints

Questions or requests: info@themedialab.io.

If you are not happy with how we handle your data, you can also complain to the data protection authority in the country where you live or work, or where you think a problem occurred.
